I recently came upon this article on CNN. Here is the opener:
“Recently, we learned two important things about Mitt Romney.
First, he would rather see the American economy fail than President Barack Obama win.
Second, the extent of his hypocrisy is amazing. While he laments the toll that outsourcing has taken on our workers and economy, he amassed a fortune by investing in companies that outsourced American jobs.”
The first few lines are eye grabbing, however it is even crazier when you analyze the points provided.
I know you’re a Liberal, but it’s disappointing to see you stoop to the level of spreading distortions at best, or lies at worst.
The comment that “he would rather see the American economy fail than President Barack Obama win” is asinine. While 4 years later you guys still blame Bush, we know that the policies of Obama and the Libs have directly led to America’s troubles, and therefore an Obama win equals continued American failure. In other words, it is impossible for Romney to have a preference of the two, when he believes they are connected.
As for the author’s other point, I read the article, and no where does she back up her statement that Romney laments the toll that outsourcing has taken on our workers and economy.
And even if these were legitimate charges, how can you possibly be “amazed” by his hypocracy, when compared to the magnitude and severity of offenses by your candidate. Shall I list them? I’d be happy to.
Classic. Rationalize out of it! 4 years later and we are seeing signs of recovery, so sorry it took so long to fix the damage done by Bush, but maybe if the republicans in Congress would learn to fucking compromise then we may be further along in our recovery efforts. 4 more years would only continue the recovery so your explanation doesn’t make sense on the first part. Romney’s actions of the past and current would support a possibility that he would rather see it fail then Obama win. After all if the economy failed, he would be just fine using all that tax sheltered ill gotten money he has hidden away outside the US.
Romney doesn’t lament the toll, because he is proud of his actions as the president of Bain and in his eyes, since he personally made a shit ton of money shipping jobs oversee’s he could give a shit. He just passes it over and makes claims that he would improve the economy if elected, even thought he was directly a part of corporate greed and irresponsibility that has led us to our current economic situation.
I will bow to your last point that my use of the word amazed in my post was sensationalism and used simply to gain more page views and admit that Obama could be just as easily branded a hypocrite.
